Modern Healthcare highlights the most influential women in healthcare.

CHICAGO, April 29, 2015 — Modern Healthcare is proud to announce the 2015 Top Women in Healthcare. In its sixth year, the biennial recognition program honors female healthcare executives who are developing policy, leading change and guiding healthcare delivery across the nation. The honorees are from many different sectors of the industry.

“This year’s Top 25 Women in Healthcare are a testament to the incredible accomplishments and contributions of female talent in our industry and a powerful collection of inspirational leaders,” acknowledges Fawn Lopez, publisher of Modern Healthcare.

Among those honored include HHS Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell, Dr. Christine Cassel, CEO of the National Quality Forum, and Pamela Cipriano, president of the American Nurses Association. The complete listing is a main feature in the April 27 issue of Modern Healthcare magazine, and biographies of the winners are available in a photo gallery at ModernHealthcare.com/25topwomen2015.

“Women healthcare leaders still face a tougher challenge than men in ascending to the top of their organizations, even after they have served as long and in comparable positions as they moved up the ranks,” said Merrill Goozner, editor of Modern Healthcare. “We highlight the most influential women in healthcare not just because of their accomplishments, but because they provide role models for the thousands of women who aspire to healthcare leadership roles.”

Modern Healthcare will honor this year’s Top 25 Women in Healthcare at an Awards Dinner on August 20, 2015 at the Omni Hotel in Nashville, Tenn. Information on the dinner can be found at ModernHealthcare.com/Top25awardsdinner.
