Founded in August of 2006 by Filipina-American businesswoman

Successful Woman is devoted to women who support each other in the spirit of mutual
benefit. Specifically, it set out to support success-oriented women, particularly women of
color, using business as a tool for personal and professional development.
Its main website, asuccessfulwoman.com, is
home to the A Successful Woman's Handbook series, a vibrant member community, and a
popular blog focusing on success
stories, tips, and tools. Content features include how-to articles, news and events,
business resources, memorable quotes, book reviews, members-only content, online networking,
membership opportunities, and programs.
ASW publishes an events calendar for women business owners, and produces a growing list
of Online
Training Courses for its community members beginning with two inaugural coursework
tracks:

Business
Women entrepreneurs, solopreneurs and consultants are invited to join ASW in its mission
of supporting, highlighting, and sharing women's successes through becoming members of the
site or subscribers to the the quarterly A Successful Woman
e-Newsletter. Ten percent of net proceeds from e-book sales of the A Successful
Woman's Handbook series are donated to the micro-lending organization,
Kiva.org, and ASW devotes 40-50 hours per year of pro bono
web development work through Flores' 10K Webdesign
to support other women.
A Successful Woman also offers opportunities for
sponsors to
advertise products and services that benefit women, support women-owned businesses, or
otherwise focus on supporting women in health, relationships, or business.
