The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly the University of Missouri – Rolla) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in advanced manufacturing. We are especially interested in applicants in the areas of nanomanufacturing, biomanufacturing, cyber-enabled manufacturing, and/or manufacturing as applied to energy systems.

Applications are invited from candidates that possess an earned Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related fields. This opening is anticipated to be filled at the Assistant Professor level, although qualified applicants will be considered for appointment to a higher level. The successful candidates will demonstrate the potential to establish and grow a strong research program and will participate in all aspects of the Department’s mission, which includes research, teaching and service.

The department currently has 33 full-time faculty members, over 800 undergraduate and approximately 200 graduate students. The Department offers the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. The Department seeks to significantly increase the national visibility of its research and graduate program while maintaining its high standards of teaching. A recently completed $29 million renovation project has produced a state-of-the-art Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering complex with 144,000 square feet of teaching and research laboratory space.
