Job Description

 

The Counselor is a member of the Counseling Center staff whose primary responsibility is to provide assessment, crisis intervention, short-term counseling, and referrals for all students. The Counseling Center supports students in fulfilling the full range of intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual development as part of the overall educational experience by using a strengths-based, holistic and culturally sensitive model.

This position will also supervise 1-2 interns each year and will work at both the Cambridge and Boston campus locations.

Requirements:
Master’s degree or doctorate in counseling, expressive therapy, social work, or counseling/clinical psychology.
Currently licensed in Massachusetts as an LMHC, LICSW or psychologist.
At least 5 years full-time or equivalent part-time post-graduate counseling experience.
Excellent human relations, verbal and written communications skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Must be available to work at least one evening per week.
An understanding of the developmental concerns and issues of college students.
Preferred: Experience in working with one or more of the following: expressive therapies, men’s issues, GLBTQ concerns, diverse cultural and economic populations, mindfulness
Preferred: Experience working in college or university mental health
