CRIMINAL JUSTICE: ASSISTANT PROFESSORS AND FULL-TIME LECTURERS UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON TACOMA
The University of Washington Tacoma (UW Tacoma) invites applications for multiple positions in Criminal Justice beginning September 16, 2014.  Positions are available at the ranks of Assistant Professor (tenure track) and Full-Time Lecturer.
UW Tacoma began offering an innovative Criminal Justice minor in 2009, housed within the Social Work Program.  In Autumn 2010, we began offering a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice, and we will launch an online Criminal Justice major in 2014.  Currently, we serve over 165 majors in our exciting program, which has tremendous community and faculty support and prospects for continued growth. The innovative curriculum encourages community partnerships, diversity, systems thinking, and skill development.

The Criminal Justice and Social Work programs affirm the tradition of promoting social and economic justice. Qualifications We seek applicants with degrees in criminal justice, criminology, administration of justice, law, sociology, social work or a closely related field, and with training in one or more aspects of criminal justice. Applicants for assistant professor positions must have a doctoral degree or foreign equivalent by the time of appointment and a demonstrated ability to engage in meaningful and productive research.  Applicants for full-time lecturer positions must have at least a master’s degree or J.D or foreign equivalent.   For all positions, we seek applicants with a record of excellent teaching, experience teaching across the criminal justice curriculum, a history of developing community partnerships, a commitment to social justice, and expertise in or scholarship related to disadvantaged communities.
