Job Description
Learners, Leaders, Partners (LLP) Program Assistant (10 month Special Appointment/Educational Assistant position;) Willimantic Center Location 17 HOURS/WK; may be renewed twice per year for up to 3 years
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree and minimum one year experience with:  peer or student mentoring, tutoring or advising, participation/implementation of student success workshops, leadership programs or related kinds of training in student development experiences; or a combination of education, training and experience that would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties. Incumbents are required to have demonstrated knowledge and abilities in the following areas:  advising, use of social networking marketing to attract and retain students, relationship building, training program design; office administration; marketing, information technology literacy skills; effective oral and written communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The LLP Assistant will provide specialized and individual advising along with day to day operations of the LLP program through effective performance in essential functional areas geared to strengthen minority retention and graduation.  Key elements of the program include mentoring and advising, enriched academic support, financial support and counseling, job development and career exploration and a variety of enrichment activities. The overarching goal of retention and graduation is coupled with the desire to foster well-rounded individuals ready to continue their education or enter the workforce
This position is directly supervised by the LLP Program Coordinator/ConnCAS Program Director.  This position works as a team member with the LLP Program Advisor, Professional and Student Tutors, LLP Program Coordinator, and Learning Services Director.  Additionally, the LLP Assistant works collaboratively with the college faculty and staff to facilitate success and degree completion.
MINIMUM SALARY: $26.19 per hour, no health benefits included
