Lecturer in Sociology – Carbondale, IL

Lecturer (part time). The Department of Sociology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale invites applicants for a part-time lecturer teaching position. Teaching assignment depends on the department’s needs. The expected course assignment will be two sections of Race and Ethnicity each semester, including at least one distance education section each semester. The successful applicant must hold a masters degree in sociology or closely related field. Education and experience must be appropriate to the teaching assignment with appropriate teaching experience at the university level. Preference will be given to applicants with doctorate in sociology or closely related field. Application deadline: June 16, 2014 or until filled. Date of position: to begin August 16, 2014; one semester term appointment renewable contingent on performance, curricular need, and university approval.
