MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) _ The West Virginia University Foundation is giving women another opportunity to engage with the university.
The Morgantown school says the foundation has created a group called Women of WVU.
Officials say the group provides women another way to become involved in the university using educational activities, networking opportunities and philanthropy.
A focus group last year found that female donors feel strongly about creating a legacy and “growing” new female donors, crave education on finances and are interested in social events and educational opportunities.
Membership for Women of WVU is $100 and is tax deductible. The fees also support funds that help female students with an immediate financial need, as well as finance larger one-time projects.
