Research Analyst
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, education, or a related area involving analytic and social science research skills, and at least one year of professional work experience. He/she will have a demonstrated ability to design and implement studies of varying complexity, knowledge and proficiency in social science research methodology, both quantitative and qualitative, and experience in designing and conducting surveys and analyzing survey data. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, manage competing priorities, complete assignments on time and with a high degree of quality and responsiveness, and take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision. He/she will have excellent organizational, analytic, interpersonal, and writing skills, a high level of computer literacy, including at least one statistical software package (SAS, SPSS, Stata, R) and Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word). An ideal Research Analyst will also exhibit flexibility, initiative, a sense of humor, an inclination to embrace change, and to learn and take on new tasks.
Preferred qualifications include a Master’s or Ph.D. in a related field, demonstrated familiarity with institutional research in a university setting through a practicum, internship, or other means, experience in higher education, experience with Banner information systems, Cognos, Qualtrics, Tableau, Oracle, and SQL.
