HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) _ Two federal grants worth more than $500,000 will be awarded to promote economic growth and housing rehabilitation in Hot Springs.
Arkansas U.S. Sens. Mark Pryor and John Boozman made the announcement Monday. The West Central Arkansas Planning and Development District will receive a $200,000 planning grant from the Economic Development Administration. That grant will be used to develop a strategy to stimulate business development and job growth in Hot Springs’ historic district and surrounding areas.
The city of Hot Springs will receive more than $355,000 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to support housing rehabilitation, public service projects and local infrastructure improvements.
