INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Indiana’s Department of Workforce Development is receiving more than $1 million to build or expand a database to improve connections between workers and education.
U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez says the funding will help six states to improve their employment and training services. People also will be able to access information that will help them identify the best job training program for them.
The systems also will analyze the performance of education and employment training programs.
The grants complement a Department of Education program aimed at building education databases.
Including Indiana, the states received nearly $6 million in grants for the three-year grant period.
The other states receiving grants are Connecticut, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nebraska and New Jersey.
