NBCNews, November 10, 2015 — Fortune, Essence, and People en Español, unveiled the first “50 Best Workplaces for Diversity” report on Monday.

The list, conducted in partnership with the Great Place to Work Institute, was compiled and ranked based upon employee feedback and representation of racial and ethnic minorities, as well as women.

“Diversity is more than checking a box, it is a culture of inclusion,” said Essence President Michelle Ebanks. “Good ideas can come from everywhere. Valuing diversity within the workplace better equips businesses to value diverse consumers, which directly translates to bottom line results,”

The list includes public, private, and non-profit organizations and features large chains such as: the Cheesecake Factory, Carmax, Marriott, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and Build-A-Bear Workshop, among many others.

Camden Property Trust grabbed the top spot on the diversity list. Out of the Houston-based apartment builder and management company’s 1,747 employees, 35 percent are Latino, 12 percent are African-American, and two percent are Asian. 72 percent of the company’s women hold manager positions as well.

Three separate lists were also released for the best work places for African Americans, Latinos, and Asians.

In the number one spot for African-Americans is Quicken Loans, a private organization in downtown Detroit whose employees are 16 percent African-American. 96 percent of African-Americans who work there rated it a “Great place to work.”

For Latinos, Ultimate Software is number one. The company is located in Weston, Florida and has 2,286 employees – 17 percent of who are Hispanic. 97 percent of Latino Employees said the company was a great place to work.

Asian-Americans at Workday in Pleasanton, California make up 26 percent of the employee population, making it number one on their list. 97 percent of those employees said that the company was a great place to work.
