COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ Businesses seeking to provide employee training opportunities can soon apply for a financial help through an Ohio program.
The Ohio Development Services Agency says it’s making a third round of funding available to companies through a voucher program.
The agency will reimburse employers for up to 50 percent of the eligible training costs and up to $4,000 per employee. That’s after the business pays the full cost of the training, and the employee completes it. The maximum amount an employer may qualify for in a fiscal year is $250,000.
Eligible fields of training include advanced manufacturing, food processing, logistics, energy, and financial services.
The state says more than 80,000 Ohio employees have been trained through the program.
Companies can apply online for the money beginning Sept. 30.
