POSITION: DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years experience as MIS Director, Information Technology Manager, Information Technology Specialist, Computer Programmer/Technician, or equivalent required.
• Working knowledge of multi platform, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN environment using current generation of PC products required.
• Working knowledge of learning management systems is required. Blackboard System experience preferred.
• Proven experience with local area network, user PC workstations, printers, Microsoft and other vendor software licenses, planning and purchasing of computer and network hardware and software, interfaces to the Internet (Alabama SuperComputer and other), in-house learning management system, teleconferencing equipment and software, electronic podiums, teaching stations, internal web sites, podcasting, Wiki platforms, VoIP, server systems, Windows servers (multi-generation), Windows operating systems (Windows XP and Windows 7), Internet Connectivity, Network Administration, and firewall installation and monitoring required.
• Working knowledge of Ellucian Banner System required.
• Ability to communicate non-technically with end users required.
• Excellent oral, auditory, and written communication skills required.
• Possess basic skills for managing telecommunications system required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint Services preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• The Director of Information Technology Services shall perform the duties as specified in conformity with policies established by the Alabama State Board of Education and the J.F. Drake State Community and Technical College Faculty and Staff Handbook.
• Day to day management of the college technology infrastructure.
• Provide supervision to Information Technology personnel.
• Provide technology leadership for the College, including development and maintenance of the College’s Technology Plan.
• Provide technical support to end users of the Ellucian Banner System.
• Provide technical support in maintaining e-mail system and access rights to PC workstations and internal networks and network resources.
• Maintain various servers (included but not limited to SharePoint, email, library)
• Provide technical support to maintain the college’s web page.
• Provide support for integrating technology into the instructional program.
• Manage back-up and security systems.
• Install, maintain, and support videoconferencing and teleconferencing equipment, in-house learning management system, electronic podiums, and teaching stations.
• Develop a disaster recovery plan.
• Supervise and maintain operations of AS400 to include system administration, user administration, and user support.
• Evaluate and recommend technology improvements for the college.
• Assist instructors with the technical aspects in the delivery of distance learning.
• Establish rapport and maintain a positive working relationship with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and community agencies.
• Retain and submit documentation as requested to support accreditation efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or President.
SALARY: Appropriate placement on Alabama State Salary Schedule C
Salary range $63,431 – $103,788
