ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR
[INITIAL BASE: AYERS CAMPUS]

QUALIFICATIONS:

♦ Bachelor’s degree required
♦ Twenty-seven (27) semester hours in electronics or specialized course work equivalent to the associate degree in Electronic Engineering Technology required
♦ Three (3) years of successful full-time experience as a practitioner in the field required

DESIRED PROFILE:

♦ Hands-on practical understanding of engineering concepts and technical operation
♦ Professional industry certification
♦ Experience in motor controls and programmable logic controls
♦ Commitment to college teaching
♦ Experience with internet distance courses
♦ Teaching experience in a college setting
♦ Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
♦ Commitment to the teaching-learning process of the community college and the open-door admission process
♦ Commitment to all students, including those of diverse cultures and ethnic backgrounds
♦ Successful problem solving skills
♦ Competency in the use of current educational technologies and willingness to develop and teach web-based courses
♦ Ability to work independently
♦ Ability to deal effectively with students, other employees, and the public

DUTIES:

♦ Instruct core curriculum classes in Electrical, Electronics, and Industrial Automation.
♦ Conduct instruction in a wide variety of settings and time frames to include: day, evening, and weekends on all campuses. Some traveling may be required.
♦ Assist in the planning for instruction; prepare course materials, objectives, syllabi, and curriculum design.
♦ Organize and maintain instructional equipment as required.
♦ Serve as faculty advisor to an assigned group of students.
♦ Comply with all policies of the State Board of Education, the Department of Postsecondary Education, and the College.
♦ Conduct duties in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws.
♦ Perform other duties as assigned.

PROJECTED STARTING DATE: August 14, 2014

SALARY: State Salary Schedule “D” – $38,077 – $74,454 (9 months); based on education and experience.
