Snead State Community College Intent to Employ Electronics Instructor Posting Date: July 2, 2013 Deadline Date: July 24, 2013 Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in electronics, technology, or related field from a regionally-accredited institution is required. 2. Five years work experience in the industrial and electronics field is preferred. 3. Teaching experience at the college level is preferred. 4. Effective oral and written communication skills are required. 5. Experience in the following areas preferred: Electronics, Motor Controls, Robotics, Industrial Maintenance and Automated Manufacturing. 6. Prior experience in teaching and ability to design online and hybrid-format courses preferred. Duties and Responsibilities: This faculty position is a full-time, tenure-track position for nine months annually. Summer employment is dependent upon student enrollment and availability of funds. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: 1. Assume personal responsibility for instruction in all classes assigned regardless of time (day, evening) or format (on campus, online, hybrid). 2. Post each semester the teaching load on the College’s Microsoft Outlook calendar and observe the schedule of hours reported. 3. Assist in the preparation/selection of departmental course syllabi (including learning outcomes), goals, textbooks/materials, grade distributions, and other departmental projects. 4. Serve as academic advisor for students as assigned. 5. Maintain appropriate work hours as outlined in State and College policies. 6. Participate in the College’s planning process. 7. Serve on Institutional committees. 8. Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the College. 9. Master software as needed in order to enhance instruction. 10. Maintain currency of professional knowledge and skills through professional development and continuing education. 11. Utilize instructional technology in the instructional process. 12. Develop and deliver web-based instruction. 13. Support the mission, philosophy, and goals of the College. 14. Actively participate in College initiatives (i.e., sponsor service learning projects, sponsor student clubs/organizations, network with professional, business and community service organizations). 15. Support College functions, which may include (but are not limited to) assemblies, commencement, homecoming, sporting events, etc. 16. Maintain current in-field knowledge through professional development, including but not limited to involvement in professional organizations, professional meetings, workshops, and conferences. 17. Maintain ETA-I program accreditation for the Electronics program. 18. Perform other work-related duties as assigned. Salary: $38,077 to $57,108 based on State Board of Education Salary Schedule D1, education, and experience. Application Procedures: A complete application packet consists of: 1.
