Job Description
 
The Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (IAS) program at the University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for one Full-Time Lecturer position in Religious Studies. This is a renewable position with appointment terms of 1 to 5 years beginning September 16, 2014. The position requires a terminal degree or foreign equivalent in Religious Studies or related field at the time of appointment, and college-level teaching experience. The successful candidate will teach upper- and lower-division courses in Religious Studies. We especially welcome candidates who can offer classes on religion in the United States, religion in the modern world, religion and politics, philosophy of religion, and other coursework contributing to interdisciplinary majors. Candidates will be expected to work with diverse student populations and integrate new techniques into teaching.
We seek candidates who will become integral members of an interdisciplinary faculty and staff committed to excellence and innovation in teaching. S/he will be a member of the faculty of the Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences Program (IAS), and will join faculty in the Division of Politics, Philosophy and Public Affairs which houses majors in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, and Law and Policy.
