College of the Canyons, located 35 miles north of downtown Los Angeles in the beautiful Santa Clarita Valley, is seeking a Manager, Ticketing and Patron Services for the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons to join our team.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Under the supervision of the Executive Director, supervises the box office and provides efficient and effective customer service to patrons of the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons (PAC).   Provides leadership and works with staff to ensure a high performance, customer service-oriented work environment that supports the objectives and values of the District and the PAC.  Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience: Two years of full-time equivalent professional experience as an Assistant Box Office Manager, Box Office Manager, Supervisor, or Treasurer in a performing arts center, theatre, sports, or related enterprise, or the equivalent.  Experience with Seat Advisor or other computerized ticketing system.
Education: Equivalent to completion of an Associate’s degree (60 college units) from an accredited institution. Two additional full-time equivalent years of qualifying experience may be considered in lieu of 30 units of the college coursework required. A minimum of 30 college units is required.
ABOUT THE DISTRICT: College of the Canyons is a California community college that serves the dynamic, growing Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding regions within a 367-square-mile area of northern Los Angeles County. The college opened with 735 students in 1969 and now serves nearly 22,000 students per semester on two campuses – in Valencia and Canyon Country – under the umbrella of the Santa Clarita Community College District.
Classes are offered during traditional fall and spring semesters, as well as shorter, intensive summer and winter sessions. The college offers 74 degree and 84 certificate programs, and is focused on staying ahead of the technology curve both operationally and academically. This emphasis is reflected by nearly 3,000 networked computers spanning two campuses and more than 50 separate computer labs for students.
The surrounding community has been historically and enthusiastically supportive of its local college, having approved two bond measures valued at more than $220 million since 2001. The college also secures substantial funds from the state and millions of dollars in grants each year that allow new, cutting-edge programs to be developed and facilities to be built to accommodate them.
