The Achievement Network Senior Associate, Talent Operations Position is available immediately Location: Boston, MA or New York, NY Organizational Overview: Founded in Boston in 2005, The Achievement Network (ANet) is an entrepreneurial, rapidly expanding nonprofit organization on the cutting edge of education reform. ANet partners with schools serving low-income students to build their capacity to use data effectively to dramatically improve student achievement. ANet recognizes that the effective use of student achievement data is critical to a school’s efforts to close the achievement gap. ANet offers a comprehensive solution to boost a school’s capacity to adopt a data-driven approach, involving three key strategies: I. Implement standards-aligned quarterly assessments and user-friendly data reports to determine which standards students are mastering and also where there are gaps in student learning. II. Provide intensive coaching to help schools use the data effectively to create action plans to address gaps in learning and to re-teach concepts that students have not yet mastered. III. Facilitate a peer network of leaders and teachers for best practice sharing and collaboration to accelerate improvement in schools across the network. ANet has experienced tremendous growth over the last four years, and now serves over 350 schools educating 100,000 students in Massachusetts, Chicago, Newark, New Orleans, New York City, Tennessee, and Washington, D.C. Across our national network, our partner schools are outperforming their peers, with schools in most of our networks achieving twice the gains of non-ANet schools. Our strategies and services have consistently helped schools – whether district or charter, new to ANet or long-time partners – achieve breakthrough results for their students. ANet has received a prestigious Investing In Innovation grant from the federal government as well as New Schools Venture Fund’s “Organization of the Year” award in 2011. ANet is an innovative organization experiencing tremendous growth; by 2017 ANet expects to reach 250,000 students while continuing to deliver breakthrough results for schools. Position Overview: The Achievement Network is looking for a Senior Associate, Human Capital Operations with excellent project management and communication skills. The Senior Associate, Human Capital Operations will be responsible for managing the design, maintenance, and execution of ANet’s human resources policies, programs, and services in alignment with ANet’s core values and organizational priorities. This position will report to the Vice President, People and Culture. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Implement and evaluate ANet benefits systems to ensure alignment with HC team priorities and ANet core values • Collaborate closely with relevant Finance team members on shared functions, including but not limited to payroll and risk management • Manage enrollment into ANet’s Employee Benefits program • Provide high touch internal client support, including guidance and advisement  • Manage compliance-related projects tied to ANet headcount growth and expansion into new states/Networks •         Manage ANet onboarding and off-boarding processes • Establish and manage administrative workflows to onboard, re board, and off-board ANet team members • Lead coordination with relevant Finance, IT and, Operations team members to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new team members • Liaise/coordinate with other HC team members to establish and manage role and team orientation parts of onboarding •         Manage or support ad hoc HC projects to propel ANet culture, including but not limited to: • New team member mentoring • Recognition opportunities (Anniversaries; Core Values Champions; etc) • Fun Committee • Weekly team (FTCI) call execution Required Skills and Characteristics: In order to be successful in this role, ideal candidates should demonstrate the following: • Belief in The Achievement Network’s mission and strategy: Embracing assessments and data as meaningful tools for raising student achievement, professional development as a critical lever in improving school achievement, and network collaboration as a powerful means of spreading best practices across schools • Outcomes orientation and a passion for execution • Exemplary relationship building (able to understand diverse perspectives and build consensus around effective solutions) • Ability to balance multiple projects and competing priorities, with a high attention to detail • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, with high professional standards and customer-service orientation • A collaborative and flexible working style, with a strong service mindset.  Must be seen as a team player who is committed to lifelong learning. • Commitment to The Achievement Network’s vision, mission and values, including a passion for the support of urban schools along with a belief that all students can achieve at high levels • Motivated by an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, highly collaborative and team-oriented environment, with a desire to contribute to a growing organization • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word Experience and Educational Background:  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration or management • Bachelor’s Degree • Experience with  HR systems (ADP, HR Connections, Cornerstone, etc) • Strong oral, written, analytical skills and attention to detail What We Offer: ANet is a dynamic, entrepreneurial, team-oriented organization that is committed to the professional development of all staff members.
