The University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for one or more positions in Social Work beginning
September 16, 2014. Positions are available at the rank of Full-Time Lecturer.

The Social Work Program at UW Tacoma offers three degrees. The Master of Social Work (MSW) program, initiated in 1998, is a three-year, part-time evening program with approximately 150 students. The Baccalaureate of Arts in Social Welfare (BASW) program, with approximately 95 students enrolled, started in
2002 and can be completed over a two-year or longer period of time. In 2010, the Social Work Program implemented a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. This major, developed by social work faculty, places a heavy emphasis on social justice and offers a multidisciplinary understanding of crime and justice.

Qualifications
Candidates must have a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in social work or closely related field, and training in one or more aspects of social work. A doctoral degree or foreign equivalent in social work or a closely related field is preferred but is not a requirement. For all positions, we seek applicants with a record of excellent teaching, experience teaching across the social work curriculum, a history of developing community partnerships, a commitment to social justice, and expertise in or scholarship related to disadvantaged communities.
