Description of Duties:
Bentley’s Natural and Applied Sciences Department invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Health Psychology to begin July 1, 2014. Our mission is educating students on aspects of psychology and the social sciences that affect the well-being of individuals and society.

Additional Description of Duties: Our programs prepare Bentley graduates with a background in concepts related to the bio- psychosocial model of health across the lifespan. The colleague who joins us will have the opportunity to take a role in mentoring Bentley’s growing numbers of students concentrating in Health Studies and/or a Psychology Minor. Our ideal applicant will have experience working with or consulting to the health care industry and be willing to assist our students in making connections for career opportunities. In recent years, Bentley alumni have earned attractive job offers in the health care industry and entry to competitive graduate programs in related fields. The candidate we hire would also benefit from links to our colleagues in the Center for the Integration of Science and Industry.
Position Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a doctorate in psychology or a relevant field (awarded before July 1, 2014), with expertise in health psychology. Industry, consulting, or post-doctoral experience is preferred.
All applicants should be outstanding scholars who can engage undergraduate students with business interests. Additionally, any candidate will need to be able to teach a range of elective courses such as personality, social, or history of psychology. Bentley seeks a broadly trained educator with strengths in the area of behavioral sciences in medicine. The successful candidate will have an active program of research and scholarship and complement existing faculty interests in health communication, human biology, and human health and disease.
