Development Engineer College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering Posting No: NANO – R12-02
Employment is with The Research Foundation for The State University of New York, a private, nonprofit, educational corporation that administers sponsored program activity for the University at Albany.
Description of Duties: This position is responsible for the development of novel semiconductor processing modules aimed at keeping pace with Moore’s Law. Duties to include but not be limited to the following:
• Participate in a World-Class R&D Consortium working on sub-22nm node technology. • Define and execute experiments to solve complex technology issues. • Analyze experimental results and characterize the performance of key device metrics. • Document findings and report to Management • Author papers for publication in top journals • Champion successful ideas through the patent process • Other program administration duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Science discipline such as Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics and Chemistry or equivalent Engineering and/or Science related discipline from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization AND a minimum of 5 years experience working in the semiconductor industry as a Process Development Engineer in one or more areas of advanced technology. OR A Master’s degree in Engineering and/or Science discipline such as Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics and Chemistry or equivalent Engineering and/or Science related discipline from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization AND a minimum of 3 years experience working in the semiconductor industry as a Process Development Engineer in one or more areas of advanced technology. OR A Ph.D in Engineering and/or Science discipline such as Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics and Chemistry or equivalent Engineering and/or Science related discipline from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization AND a minimum of 0-1 years experience working in the semiconductor industry as a Process Development Engineer in one or more areas of advanced technology. Candidate must have a good understanding of semiconductor processing; good oral and written communication skills; exhibit solid leadership ability; have familiarity with SPC/DOE methodologies; be willing to execute a variety of tasks on short notice; must have good program management and customer interface skills; knowledge of MS Office, DOE, and yield/defectivity analysis software. CNSE is a multi-client, consortium environment, and the successful individual must demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment is a must. Candidates must address in their applications their ability to work with culturally diverse populations. This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background investigation; this position may require annual background investigations.
