BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) _ The Three Affiliated Tribes are getting a $1 million federal grant to study transportation needs brought on by energy development on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation.
The money comes from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The reservation, occupied by the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara tribes in the heart of North Dakota’s booming oil patch, accounts for nearly a third of all oil production in North Dakota.
