Job Description
Serves as a Program Manager for the Center for Advanced Transportation Technology’s Transportation Lab. This includes the direct management and principal investigator roles surrounding laboratory research and development initiatives. Additionally, the Program Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining an information technology project plan that communicates tasks, milestone dates, status and resource allocation.
Minimum Qualifications
-B.S. with Coursework in Engineering Management, Systems Engineering, or Project Management -Minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation R&D -3+ years of experience in writing and tuning SQL queries -3+ years of experience leading software development teams implementing short iterative deployment cycles (lightweight and/or agile programming) -Demonstrable knowledge (through past work experience or oral questioning) of basic Windows 2003/2008 and Linux (CENTOS, RHEL) Server administration including user and domain management, software installation and troubleshooting, and basic networking -Strong verbal, presentation, and writing ability -Ability to concurrently lead multiple software development teams -Ability to interface with clients to derive requirements and provide support
Preferences
-B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related IT field -M.S. in Systems Engineering, (or working towards an M.S.) -Experience with public sector, transportation, and transit agencies -Experience manipulating and parsing XML and XML Schemas -Knowledge of IP based networking and technologies such as SSH, HTTP,HTTPS, DNS, Active Directory, RDP, FTP -Experience with any of the following languages: ColdFusion, Flex/Flash, PHP -Experience with PostgreSQL and PostGIS -Experience with the following Java technologies:JMS/Spring/Log4j/Hibernate/JAXB -Experience with OpenBSD Packet Filter -Familiarity with CATT Lab projects and mission -Database creation, tuning, and maintenance
