Instructor, Women’s Softball Coach – Bay Minette, AL

1. The ability to coach and teach effectively.
2. Keeping students and athletes informed about their academic assignments and player performance.
3. Submitting annual budgets to the Athletic Director.
4. Conducting class and team member evaluations
5. Assisting with registration.
6. Assisting in recruitment and retention of students.
7. Serving as academic advisor to assigned students.
8 Posting and maintaining office hours for student consultations.
9. Ensuring that assigned classes, games and practices are held as scheduled.
10. Holding final exam at the time scheduled in the College’s Course Schedule.
11. Filing an appropriate course syllabus or course outline with the Athletic Director.
12. Submitting required reports to the appropriate administrative personnel.
13. Attending all department, faculty meetings, College Assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President and Athletic Director.
14. Studying and utilizing the characteristics of students and athletes to facilitate the best teaching and learning situations.
15. Maximizing the learning opportunities for each student.
16. Keeping informed of current trends and new approaches via professional development activities.
17. Demonstrating a genuine concern for each student through personal conferences and the full utilization of the Faculty Advisement System.
18. Becoming thoroughly familiar with all college policies and procedures and complying with all college policies and procedures.
19. Serving on and providing information to College committees as needed.
20. Being actively involved in the co-curricular activities of the College.
21. Provide academic and career advice to students and promote student leadership and enrichment experiences.
22. Maintain currency of professional knowledge and skills through professional development and continuing education.
23. Lifting, carrying, and moving heavy objects within safety limits.
24. Retaining current (returning) student/athletes.
25. Scheduling fall and spring softball games and associated travel.
26. Recruiting for team vacancies due to graduation, transfers, or loss of eligibility.
27. Providing information on incoming and returning athletes during the summer so required paperwork is in place for practice/play in the fall.
28. Following student/athlete progress through the admissions, financial aid and housing process.
29. Taking inventory and ordering required equipment and clothing as budget allows.
30. Maintaining the Softball field and facilities.
31. Coordinate Intramural sports and oversee new track facility including infield soccer, football, dodge ball and kickball.
32. Supervise new modern wellness and fitness center.
