Visiting Assistant Professor of Cognitive Psychology

Job Description
A full-time instructor is needed to teach undergraduate courses in introductory psychology, cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, research methods, and statistics. The position affords the opportunity to conduct research and to benefit from mentoring from an active and collegial group of cognitive science faculty. The individual filling this position will typically teach 3 courses per semester, serve as an undergraduate advisor to psychology majors, provide research mentoring to undergraduates, and occasionally take part in other service-related responsibilities. This one year position, with potential for renewal, begins on August 18, 2014 and ending May 11, 2015. Responsibilities include:
• Develop and/or update class syllabi.
• Prepare lectures, projects and other student assignments.
• Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
• Present instruction based on competencies and performance levels of the course.
• Meet during designated class periods.
• Submit complete mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
• Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
• Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completing student evaluations.
• Build a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
Applicants for this position should have graduate level training in Psychology (PhD preferred) along with relevant teaching experience.
